It Started With Two
GSA began when we adopted Tauri and Fiona from a large farm in Vermont that was closing down for retirement.
Raspberry joined us three months later from the same farm and we started laughing about our "herd"!
Kali, Tia & Bailey were adopted from a farm in Massachusetts that was no longer able to care for them.
When Melody arrived, we thought that seven alpacas was a great fit for our little farm, but we were delighted when our friends in Vermont approached us about taking on their last two girls, Amity and Sparrow.
2019 brings Genevieve to our herd from a local shelter and she's fit right in!
Our alpacas are all sweet-natured females with individual personalities ranging from quiet and shy to downright silly and playful.
They are trainable and very smart. In return, they help keep our pasture grass trimmed and provide an an annual supply of fiber that we process into high quality yarn skeins, felted dryer balls, rug yarn, and other finished products handmade by us.
We love working with these gentle animals and their fiber.
