Registered Name: VAC's Symphonic Melody
Color: Light Fawn
Nickname: Melody
Birth date: 11JUN11
Sire: NM Beethoven
Dam: Silvercloud Farm's Allavon
Cria:
Mel is a beautiful fawn-colored alpaca with a red-head mop-top. She has all the elegance, grace, and conformation that years of good breeding genetics have given her. While she was not destined to have offspring, she was destined for our farm. She is our guardian alpaca who takes it upon herself to ensure that the herd is safe. Mel will set herself aside as sentry to monitor the perimeter and the field beyond our pasture for any suspicious activity and alert the herd accordingly. She's kept them safe from many deer, wild turkeys, squirrels, woodchucks, our chickens, barn cats, and plastic bags, who she perceived as potential threats. All kidding aside, she has sighted raccoons, coyotes, foxes, and one bobcat over the years, and we've come to rely on her keen sight and vigilance to keep the farm safe. Despite her self-imposed duties, she is very sweet to interact with. Mel loves treats and will give you alpaca kisses freely in exchange. Though she loves her herd, she craves one-on-one attention with you and will shoo her herd-mates away so she doesn't have to share you or her food with them.
